For many years, hunger eradication and poverty alleviation have been a major policy of the Party and State, a determination of the whole political system, of which the 30a program of the Government is a typical example. In which, it is very important that state-owned enterprises play a key role like EVN to step in quickly and strongly, not only having a specific impact on poor districts supported by EVN but also playing a leading role and creating positive effects in the whole society.
12 years of joining hands and contributing to support Phong Tho, Than Uyen and Tan Uyen districts of EVN has an important meaning to help the districts get out of poverty, improve people's lives in the area.

Contributing to strengthening the people's firm belief in the Party
Resolution 30a implemented by EVN in Lai Chau can be said to be very successful. In the period of 2009-2021, EVN has supported 3 districts of Tan Uyen, Than Uyen, Phong Tho with many contents such as rural power grid development; building ethnic minority boarding schools, kindergartens and half-boarding houses; supporting cement to harden rural roads; supporting vocational training for rural workers, etc., with a total budget of more than VND 980 billion. This is a very important resource to help Lai Chau province implement poverty reduction goals.
EVN's companionship over the past 10 years has contributed to improving the living and production conditions of people in rural, remote, and ethnic minority areas.

Resolution 30a implemented by EVN in Lai Chau has come to life
Resolution 30a of the Government implemented by EVN in 3 districts of Tan Uyen, Than Uyen and Phong Tho has come to life and is very effective. The activities have contributed to creating motivation for the hunger eradication and poverty reduction goals, improvement of material and spiritual life, education quality and the realization of equity and social security.
Particularly in Phong Tho district, with the support of EVN, 100% of communes and 99.96% of households currently access the national grid electricity.
The program to support the cement hardening of rural roads has helped people travel smoothly, contributing to linking villages, creating conditions for people to produce and cross-regional trade. EVN's support has contributed to decreasing the poverty rate of Phong Tho district from 27.1% in 2009 to 18.6% in 2021, achieving the set targets and roadmaps.

Contribute to changing the production mindset of the people
Resolution 30a with the support of EVN implemented in Than Uyen district has had a positive impact on people's lives; infrastructure, investment programs and projects have been effective.
In particular, the agricultural and forestry encouraging livelihood support models by EVN are consistent with the aspirations and actual needs of the people, thereby, improving economic efficiency, stabilizing sustainable household life in accordance with the spirit of Resolution 30a of the Government.
With the support of EVN, in 2018, Than Uyen district officially got rid of the list of poor districts.

The spiritual and material life of the people has been significantly improved
With the active support of EVN and the efforts of Lai Chau Power Company in coordinating with local authorities in implementing activities, the set goals in Resolution 30a in Tan Uyen district have been effectively implemented, contributing to the successful realization of socio-economic development goals.
Especially, after 12 years of implementation, Tan Uyen district has made drastic changes in the appearance of the countryside, the spiritual and material life of the people has been improved markedly. If in 2009, Tan Uyen district only had 6/9 communes accessed electricity; 60% of households accessed the national grid electricity, by the end of 2021, 100% of communes and 99.7% of households accessed the national grid electricity.
In 2018, the district was recognized as an out of poverty district by the Government.
