EVNCPC puts into operation My Khe 110kV substation: The first fully-digital substation in Central Highlands

On June 25, in Tinh Khe commune, Quang Ngai city, the My Khe 110kV substation project was completed, accepted, energized, and put into operation on the local grid. This is the first fully digital 110kV substation of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC).

The My Khe 110kV substation project is invested by EVNCPC, managed by the Central Rural Electric Project Management Board, and engineering consulted by the Central Power Engineering Consulting Company Limited.

The My Khe 110kV substation project consists of a substation with a 25MVA transformer. This is an unmanned digital substation, using a 110kV double-circuit line with a length of about 8.4km.

My Khe 110kV substation has been completed, accepted, energized, and put into operation

My Khe 110kV substation is digitally designed, allowing data transmitted from outdoor devices to the control house via fiber optic cables. The highlight of this substation is that the entire secondary copper cable system has been replaced with fiber optic cables. Thanks to that, the transmitted data is fully digitalized, helping to transmit data faster with higher accuracy and easier signal control.

This digital substation technology ensures technical standards and operational safety while creating a premise for smart grid development in the area. The successful energization of the My Khe 110kV substation will reduce the load on the Tinh Phong and Dung Quat 110kV substations, meeting the increasing load demand of the My Khe beach resort and Sa Ky port. In addition, the project will reduce power loss and improve the power supply reliability to the region, gradually completing the power grid structure of Quang Ngai province.
