Mr. Luu Viet Tien - Deputy General Director of EVNNPT
Reporter: Could you please tell us about EVNNPT's digital transformation achievements so far?
Mr. Luu Viet Tien: To date, EVNNPT has fulfilled 9 tasks for the year 2022 and EVNNPT is expected to complete the digital transformation plan of 2022 earlier than the schedule assigned by EVN. In the third quarter of 2022, the Corporation will complete all remaining tasks, including 3 very important digital transformation tasks in the field of power line management, substation management, and testing. As a result, EVNNPT will change in an overall and comprehensive manner its working ways and production organization methods for nearly 5,000 direct employees in 3 fields: power line management, substation management and testing, bringing high efficiency to the improvement of labor productivity.
Reporter: How does the conversion of 220kV substations to computer-integrated remotely controlled ones bring advantages to the management and operation of the national power transmission system, sir?
Mr. Luu Viet Tien: EVNNPT is operating 149/176 computer-integrated controlled substations, of which Thuy Nguyen 220kV substation (Hai Phong) is the first 220kV digital substation in Vietnam, reaching 85%. The Corporation has converted 109 220kV substations to be remotely operated, achieving 76% of the total 142 220kV substations, thereby saving nearly 600 employees compared to manned substations.
Besides, 100% of equipment data on the power transmission grid has been digitized on the PMIS technical management platform, 100% of meter data has been connected to the metering data collection and management system MDMS.
Leaders of EVN, EVNNPT examined the application of science and technology in the management and operation of the transmission grid at PTC2, June 2022
PV: So how does EVNNPT complete its digital transformation plan as well as its goal of becoming the leading power transmission corporation in Asia by 2025?
Mr. Luu Viet Tien: From now to 2025, EVNNPT will focus on implementing digital transformation tasks in three important areas, which are transmission grid operation technologies; investment and construction management of new projects; and internal governance.
Over the past several decades, power transmission technologies have remained largely unchanged, while digital technologies have advanced tremendously. Therefore, towards the goal of increasing productivity, increasing efficiency, reducing power transmission costs, the main message as well as expectations that EVNNPT wants to achieve is a total and comprehensive change in working ways and production methods based on digital technologies.
Digital transformation is an invaluable opportunity for EVNNPT to develop based on breakthroughs in digital technologies. If this opportunity is missed, EVNNPT will fall further behind other countries. On the contrary, if taking advantage of this opportunity, EVNNPT will keep up with advanced power transmission organizations in the world, towards the goal that by 2025, EVNNPT will become one of the power transmission organizations in the top 10 countries in Asia and by 2030, EVNNPT will reach the world's advanced level in the field of power transmission.
Reporter: Thank you very much!
