EVNNPT to ensure safe and stable operation of transmission grid in 2024

On January 6, in Hanoi, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) organized a conference to review the performance of the Party’s and the professional assignments in 2023; and prepare to implement assignments for 2024.

Accomplishing many targets and tasks

EVNNPT has synchronously implemented solutions to ensure the safe, uninterrupted, and stable operation of the national power transmission system. The volume of transmitted electricity reached 222.5 billion kWh, reaching 100.3% of the target assigned by the Group, an increase of 5.2% compared to 2022. The power loss rate in 2023 reached 2.4%, a decrease of 0.14% compared to 2022, meeting the revised target by the Group.

Regarding construction and investment activities in 2023, EVNNPT implemented investment projects with a total cost of VND 15,997 billion. The Corporation also approved investment policies for 14/8 projects as planned, approved feasibility studies for 21/62 projects as planned, and technical designs for 30/28 projects as planned.

Regarding the number of projects being energized, EVNNPT completed 29/33 projects, typically: Song Hau - Duc Hoa 500kV transmission line, transmission line connecting to 500kV substations Duc Hoa, Chon Thanh, Long Thanh, etc.

Last year, EVNNPT commenced the construction of 30 projects, including many important projects aimed at solving voltage-related requirements for the power transmission grid in the Northern region, or 500kV substations in Quang Tri, Binh Duong, etc.

In particular, under the direction of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Vietnam Electricity, EVNNPT has drastically focused all resources to implement component projects of the 500kV transmission line circuit 3 from Quang Trach to Pho Noi. In 2023, Nam Dinh 1 - Thanh Hoa 500kV transmission line project started being constructed. The three remaining projects will start construction in the first days of January 2024.

By the end of 2023, the Corporation has transformed 121/150 220kV substations into unmanned substations.

Some planned targets of EVNNPT in 2024:

- Transmission volume: about 233.9 billion kWh, an increase of 5.12% compared to 2023.

- Power loss rate on the transmission grid: 2.15%.

- Construction and investment: Striving to start construction of 34 projects, complete and put into operation 63 projects. The total value of construction and investment work is estimated at VND 20,476 billion.

 - Preserving and developing capital; improving production and business efficiency and striving for profitable business according to the targets assigned by EVN.
