Energizing Nghi Son Economic Zone 220kV Substation and connection lines

At 9:00 p.m. on 27 October 2024, the National Power Transmission Corporation and the Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB), in coordination with relevant units, energized the Nghi Son Economic Zone 220kV Substation and the connection line, four days ahead of schedule compared to the direction of the Party Committee of Vietnam Electricity (EVN).

This is a level I, group B energy work, invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed and operated by CPMB, and operated by Power Transmission Company 1.

The Nghi Son Economic Zone 220kV Substation is located on a hill near the Ferocrom Industrial Park in Hai Thuong Ward, Nghi Son Town, Thanh Hoa Province. The 220kV connection line passes through Hai Thuong ward, Nghi Son town, Thanh Hoa province.

The construction scale of the new 220/110kV substation consists of 2 transformers with a capacity of 250MVA. The 220kV side was designed with a diagram of 2 busbar systems with a communication circuit breaker including 7 bays; the 110kV side was designed with a diagram of 2 ring busbar systems including 14 bays. A new 4-circuit 220kV line was constructed with a total length of about 4.1km.

After completion, the project will help increase the power supply for a load of Thanh Hoa province, especially the Nghi Son Economic Zone experiencing high power growth. The project also contributes to ensuring the N-1 criteria, improving the reliability and safety of the regional grid's power supply.
