Northeast Power Transmission No. 3 manages and operates the 220/500kV power transmission grid within 10 northern provinces. To ensure a safe power supply in the hot season of 2023, the unit has increased the frequency of heat detection, placing regular heat detectors at power transformers. All transformers managed by the unit have been installed with a water cooling system to ensure cooling support in hot weather and high temperatures. Currently, the unit has also deployed the application of UAVs on all affiliated power transmission teams for operation management, focusing on the heat-detecting tubes and corridors.
Similarly, Northwest Power Transmission Unit is in charge of managing and operating 9 220/500kV substations, 3 500kV lines, and 23 220kV lines. The unit has completed 100% of the periodic testing volume of 2023. The transformers and oil resistance devices at the substations have been tested for partial discharge by ultrasonic, the test results show no abnormal phenomena. The cooling system of the transformers works well. The unit has additionally an installed water cooling system for transformers, and electrical resistance at all affiliated substations to reduce the temperature of its body part when operating with high load and high temperature.
EVNNPT's delegation inspects operation at Hiep Hoa 500kV substation (Bac Giang), on June 8
For the 220kV and 500kV lines, a periodical inspection is conducted every month; strengthening inspection when the line is overloaded, and performing unexpected inspections. Currently, the columns with tall trees in the corridor scope have been thoroughly handled to ensure safe operation in the hot season.
