Reporting at the conference, Mr. Bui Phuong Nam - Deputy Director of EVN Power Projects Management Board No. 1 said: In 2019, the unit has completed most of the planned targets, including speeding up the settlement of Son La and Lai Chau hydroelectric power projects; preparing investment capital for Hoa Binh hydropower expansion project, Dung Quat Thermal Power Center sub-projects and power transmission projects, etc.
However, during the implementation process, the unit has also encountered some problems. Specifically, the adjusted total investment for Son La hydropower project has not been approved by the ministries. The spare transformers for Lai Chau Hydropower Project were unable to transport because the water level in Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir does not meet the minimum requirements for waterway transportation.

For the Hoa Binh Hydropower Expansion Project, the implementation results of some bidding packages and works are about 2-3 months behind the construction plan, the reason is that the appraisal and approval of investment capitals still took a long time.
For projects in the stage of investment preparation such as: Public Infrastructure Projects for Dung Quat gas turbine power plants No. I, II and III; There are still some obstacles in the investment procedures at the Dung Quat I and Dung Quat III gas turbine power plant projects.
However, in 2020, the EVNPMB1 strives to complete the final settlement for the Son La and Lai Chau Hydropower Project. The unit strives to complete the commencement procedures for Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant expansion project in the fourth quarter of 2020. For projects at Dung Quat Thermal Power Center, the unit will closely monitor and report to the competent authorities for approval of the project while coordinating with local authorities to complete the site clearance compensation for factory worker dormitory.
For power transmission projects such as Nam Mo 220kV transmission line (Lao – Tuong Duong), Lao Cai 220kV substation and connecting lines, Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line and expanding 500kV bay at Vinh Yen 500kV substation, the EVNPMB1 unit shall explain for the approval of technical tasks of cost estimates of surveys, formulation and verification the technical reports.

Speaking at the conference, EVN’s Deputy General Director Nguyen Tai Anh acknowledged the efforts made by the EVNPMB1 in following up the directions of the ministries, branches and localities to implement their assigned projects, ensuring the progress of various projects under EVN's entrusted contracts such as Tan My irrigation system project, Ban Lai reservoir project, Da Mi solar power plant project, etc.
EVN’s Deputy General Director Nguyen Tai Anh suggested that the EVNPMB1 should pay attention to ensuring the construction progress and quality of their assigned projects; Continuing to provide training and retraining programs for their staff to improve the professional qualifications and perfect the title criteria; Promoting the corporate governance; Continuing to improve the mechanism for evaluating work performance based on productivity and quality in accordance with KPI efficiency indicators, which means the people in charge shall be highly responsible for each performance.
