Exchange of experience on smart grid and cybersecurity between EVN and EDF

On July 4th, in Hanoi, EVN's Vice President Vo Quang Lam presided over a significant meeting with a French Electricity Corporation (EDF) delegation. The purpose of this meeting was to exchange and share expertise on the management of smart grids and cybersecurity.

The EDF delegation included prominent figures such as Mr. Karim Bregui, National Director of EDF Vietnam; Mr. Eric Beaujean, Executive Director of International Networks (EDF IN); and Mr. Lionel Besombes, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific.

During the meeting, Mr. Karim Bregui highlighted EDF's extensive experience in developing smart grids and addressing cybersecurity threats, expressing a desire to share these valuable lessons with EVN. He emphasized that this exchange would be a beneficial opportunity for both corporations to enhance their practices, overcome current challenges, and foster a robust cooperative relationship, paving the way for future collaborations.

In his welcome address, EVN's Vice President Vo Quang Lam expressed profound gratitude and appreciation for the meaningful and effective cooperation between EDF and EVN in recent years. He articulated EVN's keen interest in learning from EDF's valuable experiences in developing smart grids and strengthening cybersecurity measures. Such knowledge exchange is expected to significantly contribute to the advancement and secure operation of EVN's smart grid systems and enhance the corporation's information security and data analysis capabilities.

The EDF experts delivered in-depth presentations on crucial topics related to smart grids and cybersecurity. These included insights into the development and operation of smart grids, innovative technologies and data solutions, the deployment of smart meters, cybersecurity services, practical lessons in information security, and risk management in cybersecurity…

In response, representatives from EVN's specialized departments provided an overview of Vietnam's power grid, detailing the development process of EVN's smart grid and its member units. Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, a subsidiary of EVN, ranks among the top 50 smart grids globally.

Throughout the meeting, EVN delegates posed numerous practical questions, which were met with detailed and specific responses from the EDF experts, facilitating a highly productive and insightful exchange.
