Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors Duong Quang Thanh delivered a directing speech

Over the past time, the technical management in EVN has achieved remarkable achievements, making an important contribution to improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply, commensurate with the scale of the power system with the installed capacity ranking first in Southeast Asia and 23rd in the world. EVN has been operating the national power system safely, uninterruptedly, and stably, meeting the electricity supply requirements across the country. Various types of power sources have been effectively exploited, in which, hydropower output in the last 5 years has increased by an average of 4%/year.

In particular, the capacity of power system management and operation has been increasingly improved, particularly in the context of a large penetration of renewable energy sources. The availability, reliability, and response factors of power units/power plants have been improving, most of them reaching and exceeding the technical criteria approved by EVN's Board of Directors in the period of 2021 - 2025. The reliability of the distribution grids of the five Power Corporations has met the plans assigned by EVN.

Member organizations under Vietnam Electricity have enhanced and renewed their grid operation and maintenance using the CBM approach, and live-line working technology, contributing to ensuring safety, reducing incidents, and limiting interruption/cut-off of electricity supply to customers. EVN has promoted the application of achievements of the fourth industrial revolution and implemented digital transformation in operations. Notably, the power loss rate of EVN in 2022 reached 6.25%, the lowest ever. This is a step towards the target of lowering the power loss rate to 6% by 2025.
