The delegation of EVN listened to the overall progress report of IHPEP. The project was implemented in June 2021. In the process of investment construction, there were many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic but employees and workers of the whole construction site made great efforts to complete the assigned tasks.
At the inspection, EVN’s President and CEO (first row, second from left) emphasized that 2023 was of special significance and many items needed to be completed to be able to generate power for both units in 2024. The President and CEO requested the whole construction site management board and all staff to make high determination, great efforts and drastic action to ensure the construction progress and quality of the project.

According to the report of Power Project Management Board No. 2, up to now, 42/63 contractor selections have been completed, 50/65 sets of design documents have been approved, construction drawings of items have been approved, meeting the construction schedule of the project. The construction progress of the main items of the project is 1-3 months ahead of the plan.

IHPEP is invested and built to increase the mobilization capacity of loads in the South, especially during peak hours, contributing to improving the working mode of the power system. The generation progress of Unit 1 is expected in the second quarter of 2024; Unit 2 in the third quarter of 2024.

IHPEP consists of 2 units with a total installed capacity of 360MW, a total investment of about VND 6,398 billion. Funding for the project consists of 30% of counterpart funds from EVN and the remaining 70% from credit loans from Agribank and the French Development Agency (AFD - Agence Française de Développement).
