Recently, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant and Vinacomin Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Coalimex) held a signing ceremony for the 2027 coal purchase and sale contract, covering a total volume of 5.1 million tonnes.

Delegates attending signing ceremony for 2027 coal purchase and sale contract between Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant and Coalimex on August 27 in Hanoi.
Under the contract, Coalimex commits to supplying a total of 5.1 million tonnes of coal to Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant in 2027. The two parties also agreed on strict technical requirements for coal quality to ensure boiler efficiency, optimize heat rates, and comply with environmental protection regulations. At the same time, they committed to maintaining adequate coal stockpiles and implementing a two-level early warning mechanism to mitigate the risk of supply disruptions.
This outcome follows a working visit by leaders of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) to Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant (Lam Dong Province) on August 24. As Coalimex is the strategic partner and the sole supplier responsible for providing the entire imported coal supply for Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant in 2027, the early completion of negotiations and signing of the contract, more than four months ahead of schedule, is crucial to ensuring fuel security.
In parallel with proactively securing the fuel supply, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant has finalized the technical plan, determined the required quantities of materials, and developed key technical solutions for the major overhaul of Unit S2, scheduled for 2027. At the same time, the Plant is proactively managing and addressing equipment aging.
