The Western Australian delegation also included representatives of Australian government agencies, trade and investment bodies, as well as businesses and organizations operating in the energy sector.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and discussed priorities for promoting cooperation opportunities in liquefied natural gas (LNG) and energy storage.

EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai said that under the adjusted Power Development Plan VIII, in addition to other power sources, Vietnam is oriented toward developing LNG-fired power generation and battery energy storage systems (BESS). These solutions will help ensure electricity supply for socio-economic development and meet demand as Vietnam targets double-digit economic growth, while also supporting stable power system operation as the share of renewable energy continues to increase.

To gradually realize these development orientations, EVN seeks to strengthen cooperation with international partners, including businesses and organizations from Western Australia, to exchange experience in developing flexible power sources, integrating renewable energy, and operating power systems. Through such cooperation, EVN can gain additional insights for selecting appropriate solutions and enhancing its project implementation capabilities to meet system operation requirements in the new development phase.

Representatives of the Western Australian delegation expressed confidence that the state’s businesses and organizations could meet EVN’s cooperation needs. Building on similar power system development orientations, the delegation expressed its desire to connect Western Australian businesses and educational institutions with EVN to exchange technological solutions, share operational experience, and cooperate in workforce training tailored to the Group’s needs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain exchanges and connect relevant units to further specify and advance the areas of cooperation discussed.
