During the meeting, SDEE introduced its key manufacturing areas, including power transformers, power cables, switchgear, automation systems, and energy storage equipment.

SDEE noted that Vietnam is one of its key markets under the Group’s development strategy. In addition to supplying electrical equipment, SDEE expressed its interest in expanding technical cooperation and introducing solutions to support investment in, upgrading, and modernization of the power grid.

Speaking with the delegation, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An noted that Vietnam has substantial demand for the construction, rehabilitation, and expansion of its transmission and distribution networks to ensure a reliable electricity supply. Alongside infrastructure investment, Vietnam's power sector is accelerating grid modernization, automation, and smart grid development.

During the meeting, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An and SDEE representatives also exchanged views on potential connections with Vietnamese companies engaged in electrical equipment manufacturing and service provision. Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation and several Vietnamese manufacturers of power cables and switchgear were among the companies mentioned as potential partners for SDEE to explore, depending on its business needs and development strategy.

EVN and SDEE leaders also discussed several technologies and solutions for the power sector, including grid automation, substation and transmission line monitoring, energy storage systems, mobile substations, and 500kV equipment. The two sides also shared information and experience related to ultra-high-voltage alternating current (UHVAC) and direct current (UHVDC) transmission systems.

The two sides discussed strengthening the exchange of information and technical expertise, as well as the possibility of organizing specialized workshops to gain a deeper understanding of each other's technologies, solutions, and needs. EVN expressed its readiness to introduce suitable Vietnamese companies to SDEE for further discussions, thereby helping translate the areas of potential cooperation identified at the meeting into concrete initiatives.

Shandong Electrical Engineering & Equipment Group (SDEE) is a state-owned enterprise under China Electrical Equipment Group (CEE), specializing in equipment manufacturing and the provision of technologies and services for the power sector.
