EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An meets with China Exim Bank Leadership

On the morning of 28 August in Hanoi, Dang Hoang An, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held a meeting with Mr. Chen Huaiyu, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank).
Also attending the meeting was EVN Vice President Nguyen Dinh Phuoc.

During the meeting, China Exim Bank Chairman Chen Huaiyu highly appreciated EVN's important role in ensuring electricity supply to support Vietnam's economic development.
On this occasion, China Exim Bank introduced its financial products and services and discussed potential areas of cooperation to support EVN's investment needs.
EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An acknowledged China Exim Bank's cooperation with EVN over the past 20 years, particularly through financing for several major power projects. These projects have contributed to ensuring electricity supply for Vietnam's socio-economic development and meeting the needs of the population.
Vietnam faces substantial investment requirements for new power generation capacity to support its double-digit socio-economic growth targets. EVN is also preparing and implementing investment in power generation and grid projects in accordance with the revised National Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII). Against this backdrop, the EVN Chairman encouraged international financial institutions and investors, including China Exim Bank, to participate in the development of power generation projects in Vietnam.
The two sides agreed to maintain regular communication, exchange information, and explore suitable cooperation opportunities, laying the groundwork for further collaboration in the coming period.
China Exim Bank is a Chinese policy bank that supports the country's import and export activities, overseas investment, and international economic cooperation. It also plays an important role in providing financing for infrastructure, energy, transportation, and industrial projects both in China and overseas, particularly projects involving Chinese enterprises.
China Exim Bank has also provided financing for several EVN projects in previous years, with total loans exceeding USD 3.3 billion.
