Consuming 100% ash and slag
Hai Phong Thermal Power Joint Stock Company is currently operating two thermal power plants with a total capacity of 1,200MW. The company has fully implemented formulating environmental documents and procedures in accordance with the law such as Report on Environmental impact assessment, certificate of completion of environmental protection works, permit of discharge of wastewater into water sources, permitting of surface water exploitation, registration books of hazardous waste source owners, plans of environmental incident response, and so on.
Annually, the company uses about 3.4 million tons of coal for power generation. Coal imported through the wharf is transported to the warehouse by a closed conveyor system so that coal dust does not fly out into the environment. In addition, the company also installs misting systems in the port area and warehouses so that the air environment is not polluted.
For the amount of ash generated, the company signed a contract to transfer ash and slag to units specializing in processing ash and slag to make building materials. The company's volume of ash and slag is certified for conformity with regulations on environmental protection. Up to now, the amount of ash and slag generated in the production process of the company has been consumed 100%, including the amount of ash and slag in the reservoirs.
