Handing over a rooftop solar PV system to a school at a highland commune in Quang Nam province

On October 4, 2019, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and Tuoi Tre Newspaper jointly organized the inauguration ceremony for and handover the rooftop solar PV system to Vo Chi Cong High School in A Xan commune, Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province.

The total investment cost of the project is nearly VND 300 million, being funded by the welfare fund and the contributions of employees of the Central Power Corporation. The project is made of 30 solar panels, with a total capacity of over 11.1kWp, generating an average electricity output of 40.59kWh per day.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh - Member of EVNCPC's Board of Directors said that in recent years, EVNCPC has always fulfilled the mission of ensuring electricity supply for the Central - Central Highlands provinces, contributing to the political stability and economic development in the region. In addition, businesses have spent their resources to realize social security programs.

EVNCPC has invested in installing a rooftop solar power system for Vo Chi Cong High School with the desire to help the School save monthly electricity costs, while providing a vivid demonstration of benefits of the use of solar energy, increasing the awareness of preserving the environment.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Tuoi - Principal of Vo Chi Cong High School thanks the Central Power Corporation, the Central Power Electronic Measurement Equipment Manufacturing Center for investing in the project. The project was promptly installed and put into use to support teachers and students right at the beginning of the new school year.

Mr. Le Hoang Linh - Vice Chairman of Tay Giang District People's Committee highly appreciated the significant implication of the project and viewed that this is a model that needs replication to contribute to improving living and learning conditions in mountainous, remote areas in the region.

This is also one of 4 rooftop solar PV systems being installed on the roofs of schools, supported by EVNCPC according to plan in 2019.
