In response to the call of the MOIT, the Power sector, and Directive No. 20, JK Vietnam Industrial Joint Stock Company decided to join the demand response (DR) program. Accordingly, each stamping machine in JK's production line is equipped with an additional inverter device, which improves engine efficiency as well as significantly reduces power consumption.
Since participating in the DR program, JK has saved 3% on monthly electricity bills compared to that of the previous time, as well as avoiding overloading for the grid of the Power sector during peak hours.
Mr. Bach Thang Long - Deputy General Director of Garment 10 Company - shared that after participating in the DR program launched by EVNHANOI, along with synchronous measures, the unit reduced electricity costs by about 5 % in 1 month.
With 100% of the technological production line using electricity such as the Glass Factory of the Glass and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, the engineering team has found a more optimal solution, which is to take advantage of the large roof area of the factory to install solar panel systems to serve production needs. Thanks to that, during the peak summer months, the company saved about VND80-150 million/month.
Mr. Tran Viet Nguyen - Deputy Head of the Business Department of Vietnam Electricity - said that the implementation of the DR program is often coordinated by the Power sector and customers at necessary times such as the critical peak of the system and economic incidents and operations, is cooperative as well as voluntary of the enterprise.
"The Ministry of Industry and Trade is actively researching the commercial DR mechanism, which means having financial incentives for customers to participate in DR more actively" - Mr. Nguyen informed.
