Photos of critical substation of 500kV circuit-3 transmission line project in Pho Noi, Hung Yen reaching finish line ahead of schedule

Pho Noi 500kV substation (Hung Yen) - the final point of the 500kV circuit 3 transmission line project has been completed, ready to transmit electricity from the South. To complete the project ahead of schedule, workers and engineers have diligently worked on excavation and equipment erection under the roar of high voltage current.

Feeder bays (technical term for component of substation) No. 585, 586 at Pho Noi 500kV substation built on reserve land area for two 500kV feeder bays located within existing Pho Noi 500kV substation premise.

Energization of feeder bay expansion component project at Pho Noi 500kV substation is to prepare for energization of two circuit-3 500kV transmission line from Nam Dinh I TPP - Pho Noi to strengthen power system connectivity and improve power supply stability and safety.

To complete construction process on schedule, workers and engineers diligently carefully worked on excavation work and equipment erection, etc. under roaring noise emanating from another high-voltage power line previously connected to substation.

With spirit of "overcoming the sun, winning the rain", every project stage has been urgently carried out by workers and engineers. Workforce working at height must wear sturdy safety belts and hang on structures for installation...

Large, heavy pieces of power lines are carried aloft by workers and engineers.

On the ground, cranes and workers are ready to support in stringing lines, etc.

Site work is constructed parallel to line stringing.

With great determination, component project was completed on June 18, about 2 days ahead of schedule.

All equipment has been tested and accepted. After installation, Pho Noi 500kV substation must be tested to see if equipment operates and switching time works satisfactorily, within allowable limits, etc. before energizing. In the photo, on June 19, engineers at Pho Noi 500kV substation examined electrical cabinet at project.

At control room of Pho Noi 500kV substation, feeder expansion item is managed on computer control panel. Green line displayed on screen is 500kV power source, red is 220kV and blue is 110kV.

Talking about electricity dispatching, Substation Manager Pham Van Cuong stated that there are two levels of dispatching. The 500kV voltage level is controlled by the National Power Load Dispatch Center (A0); the 220kV and 110kV voltage levels are under the control of the Regional Power Load Dispatch Center (A1). Changing lines and reversing is done by power plants. The generation of power plants, increase or decrease of generation is directed by the National Power Load Dispatch Center (A0). Regarding the 500kV transmission lines, the first line transmits electricity from the North to the South; the second line carries electricity from the South to the Central region, while the third line carries electricity from the Central region to the North. If the North needs electricity, the South will help supply to meet the demand. If the South needs electricity, the North will do the same. The system will automatically adjust the frequency according to the load system."

The third 500kV transmission line project is a key project with a particularly important role in national energy security. The third 500kV transmission line project has a length of 514km, connecting from Quang Trach to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) with a total investment cost of VND 23,000 billion. This project is approved in Power Development Plan No.8 to carry out inter-regional power transmission to the North, increasing power supply capacity.
