Prepared for evacuating electricity generated from Thang Long Thermal Power Plant

According to the Northern Power Project Management Board (under the National Power Transmission Corporation), the 500kV network project connecting Thang Long Thermal Power Plant to the national power grid has been commissioned and energized since May 31, 2017.

This project is of Group B energy project class with the total investment cost of more than VND 158 billion. The transmission line is composed of two circuits, the first end point is at Thang Long TPP 500kV bus bar and the last end point is at the tower No. 15 of the existing Quang Ninh - Thuong Tin 500kV transmission line. The line goes across two communes Le Loi and Thong Nhat, Hoanh Bo district, Quang Ninh province with the total length of 4.15 km (including the connection part from the last end point to the substation).

The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation, managed and implemented by the Northern Power Project Management Board. The project is designed by Power Engineering Consulting Company 4 and will be transferred to Power Transmission Company 1 for management and operation.

Thang Long Thermal Power Plant Project is invested by Thang Long Thermal Power Joint Stock Company – Geleximco and has capacity of 600 MW. This is the first private thermal power plant in Vietnam as approved by the Prime Minister at Decision No.627/QD-TTg dated July 29, 2011. The project began construction on October 23, 2014 and was completed after 45 months of construction.
