Releasing 50,000 fingerlings into the Ban Ve reservoir (Nghe An)

On March 10, Power Generation Corporation No.1, Ban Ve Hydropower Company in cooperation with Tuong Duong district (Nghe An province) released 50,000 fingerlings into the bed of Ban Ve hydropower reservoir.

The selected fingerlings are species with high economic benefits, suitable for the local habitat such as grass carp, driftwood, carp, tilapia, tench, etc., with a total value of nearly VND 100 million.

This is an annual activity of Ban Ve Hydropower Company, in order to restore and regenerate aquatic resources which are being exploited and increasingly depleted, contributing to the ecosystem balance.

Through the fish-releasing activity, Ban Ve Hydropower Company wishes to communicate with and encourage local people to strictly observe regulations on fisheries exploitation; not use electric pulses, explosives, and chemicals for fishing which unbalance the ecosystem and biodiversity of Ban Ve hydropower reservoir in particular and the Ca river in general.

Delegates planting trees in the area of Ban Ve Hydropower Project

On this occasion, responding to the "Tree planting festival in gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh" and implementing the "Program to plant 1 billion trees for a green Vietnam" launched by the Prime Minister, employees of Ban Ve Hydropower Company planted more trees in the area of the Company.

Ban Ve Hydropower Plant has an installed capacity of 320MW, located on Nam Non river, Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province. After 13 years of operation, the plant has successfully completed major goals such as: ensuring water supply, controlling flood downstream, and operating the reservoir safely according to the process. Up to now, the total power generation output of the plant has reached about 13 billion kWh.
