EVN inaugurated an investment project of US $ 1.27 billion - Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant

The inauguration ceremony of Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant was organized by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) on February 14, 2019 in My Loc commune, Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province.

Attending the ceremony, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that the project was completed and put into operation ahead of schedule, which had been resulted from the outstanding efforts of the Project Owner - EVN, the General Contractor and other involved organizations.

According to the Chairman of Board of Directors of EVN - Mr. Duong Quang Thanh, Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant is considered as one of the top quality thermal power plants in Vietnam.

The ribbon cutting ritual to inaugurate Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant (capacity of 2 x 300 MW, in Thai Binh Power Complex).

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited, encouraged and gave gifts to staffs and operation engineers of the Plant.

The project is invested by EVN and managed by the Power Generation Corporation No.3 / Thai Binh Thermal Power Project Management Board. Two power units have been put into commercial operation since April 2018, in which power unit 2 completed nearly 1 month ahead of schedule.

Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant has generated over 3 billion kWh to the national power grid.

Since being put into operation, the power units have been operating at full designed capacity, promptly providing additional output to make up the deficient amount of the power system during the dry season of 2018 and 2019.

Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant has been granted a certificate of completion of environmental protection works by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
