Currently, the first towers of the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line are being installed. EVN.com.vn reports from the construction site at tower position VT42, Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province, on April 18.

EVN’s Vice President Pham Hong Phuong and working delegation inspect construction progress of Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV transmission line project, including position VT42, one of first towers to be installed along entire line.

VT42 tower located in Dien Quan Commune, Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province, and constructed by contractor PC1 Group Joint Stock Company.

EVN’s Vice President Pham Hong Phuong discussed with the leadership of Power Project Management Board 1 and contractor representatives at the VT42 tower position. The EVN leader instructed the contractor to prepare the construction site for equipment and materials arrival, ensure safety measures, and provide a monitoring plan. Additionally, they were required to arrange and mobilize vehicles to transport tower equipment and materials conveniently.

According to design, VT42 tower is 59 meters tall and weighs 50 tons.

To erect VT42 tower, workers face many challenges such as hot weather, narrow access roads, and inability of cranes to reach construction site.

All tasks are being carried out very urgently.

Workers on construction site must take precautions to protect themselves from heat due to hot weather.

With experience of erecting two 145-meter-tall towers in Quang Trach - Pho Noi 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line project, contractor is striving to complete installation of VT42 tower by April 20, 2025. In photo: "Spider-Man" worker is hanging and working at top of tower. Photo: Cao Cuong.
