
In 2025, EVN commenced and completed the Lao Cai – Vinh Yen 500kV Transmission Line Project in just over six months of construction. In the photo: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh encouraged and presented gifts to construction forces participating in the project on August 9, 2025, in Phu Tho.
The Lao Cai – Vinh Yen 500kV Transmission Line was energized on September 30, 2025—eight months ahead of the original schedule set out in the investment policy decision approved by the Prime Minister. The project was officially inaugurated on October 17, 2025.

In 2025, EVN also inaugurated the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project on December 19. Located in Phu Tho Province, the project has a total installed capacity of 480MW.
Previously, key milestones of the project included the successful installation of the two rotors of Units 1 and 2 of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project.

Regarding electricity supply to seas and islands, last year EVN inaugurated the project to supply electricity from the national grid to Con Dao District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province (now Con Dao Special Zone – Ho Chi Minh City) on December 19, 2025. Overcoming numerous complex challenges in terms of technical requirements, construction conditions, and weather, EVN completed the project 3.5 months ahead of schedule. This result demonstrates a significant breakthrough in the implementation of 110kV submarine transmission line projects. In terms of renewable energy, in 2025, EVN completed the construction of Phuoc Thai 2 and Phuoc Thai 3 Solar Power Plants under the Phuoc Thai Solar Power Complex (Phuoc Huu Commune, Khanh Hoa Province), increasing the total annual output of the complex to over 247 million kWh.

The year 2025 also witnessed remarkable progress in the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project – Vietnam’s first pumped storage hydropower plant. In the photo: The VH2 operation and construction access road of the project, viewed from above.

Meanwhile, at the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project (Khanh Hoa Province), construction teams are striving to maintain a high level of work intensity. Currently, foundation excavation for the powerhouse is underway at the site.

At the Quang Trach Power Center (Quang Tri Province), by the end of 2025, the overall progress of the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Project had surpassed 97%. EVN is accelerating construction works with the goal of commissioning the units of Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant in 2026.
