With the results achieved, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) affirms its position as a pioneering state-owned enterprise in digital transformation, practically improving corporate governance efficiency and bringing many benefits to people and customers. Up to now, EVN's renovation and modernization journey has become more open under the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo.
The digital ecosystem is growing strongly
As a leading state-owned enterprise, since 2021, EVN has promptly implemented comprehensive digital transformation in all areas, aiming to improve the Group's operational efficiency practically, practically bring benefits to customers, and, above all, contribute to promoting the national digital transformation. The 5 key areas in which EVN has implemented digital transformation include: Internal management, construction investment, production, business and customer service, telecommunications, and information technology.
Thanks to early orientation, strong determination, and drastic actions, digital transformation in EVN has brought many positive results. “Up to now, EVN has built a strong ecosystem with full software serving management work and all areas of EVN's operations” – EVN Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Hoang An affirmed.
For example, in the field of administration, EVN is the first unit in Vietnam to successfully establish a unified document connection axis throughout the Group, which is an important basis for connecting to the national document connection axis later. The unified application of the Digital Office system has marked the shift from the traditional administration model to the online administration one, creating a premise for the process of digital transformation of enterprises.
In the field of construction investment, EVN has promoted bidding through the electronic system of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. Since 2021, 100% of bidding packages implemented in the form of competitive bidding and open bidding have been organized for online bidding. The Group has also deployed construction investment project management software (IMIS 2.0) with a total of 23 main subsystems serving all construction investment management work throughout the Group.
EVN has applied artificial intelligence (AI) in the management and operation of transmission lines and substations. The combination of UAVs, smart cameras, and software with AI algorithms has brought practical results in monitoring the status of transmission lines and substations; making inspection, maintenance, and repair easier more accurate and time-saving, especially in areas with complex terrain. At the same time, it enhances safety for workers while working, increasing labor productivity. According to calculations by the National Power Transmission Corporation - a unit of EVN, thanks to the application of this technology, the workforce has been reduced by 22.4% when managing and operating 500kV lines and 17.9% for 220kV lines.
Notably, many software in the EVN digital ecosystem developed by the Electricity Telecommunications and Information Technology Company (EVNICT) have affirmed their outstanding quality, receiving a series of prestigious awards such as the National Digital Transformation Award, the Sao Khue Award, and so on. That shows the capacity and autonomy of EVN and its units in gradually mastering technology on the digital transformation journey.
