Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attends and congratulates 4th Congress of EVN Party Committee

Attending the Congress were Comrade Thai Phung Ne, Labor Hero, former member of the Party Central Committee, and former Minister of Energy.

On the side of ministries, agencies, and central bodies were Comrade Tran Thi Hien - Deputy Chairwoman of the Central Inspection Commission; Comrade Nguyen Hoang Long - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; representatives from central Party committees, departments, and units under the Government Party Committee, members of Steering Committee No. 01 and its supporting unit, and representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, among others.

Also in attendance were former EVN leaders, representatives of domestic partners and units, along with 220 official delegates representing more than 9,000 Party members from 25 grassroots Party organizations under EVN’s Party Committee.

With the motto “Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development,” the 4th Congress of EVN’s Party Committee marks a turning point in the Group’s development in the coming years. The Congress aims to comprehensively evaluate the implementation of the Resolution from the 2020-2025 term, and determine orientations, tasks, and breakthrough solutions for the 2025-2030 term.

In the 2020-2025 term, the Group overcame a tough period in the first half of the term, achieving positive results in the latter half: ensuring power supply, greatly increasing construction investment volume, completing many key projects, particularly the 500kV Circuit 3 transmission line from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, gradually improving financial conditions, and meeting or surpassing many targets.

Since the beginning of 2025, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, the Group has ensured a stable power supply for socio-economic development, maintained stable production and business operations, and sustained a high pace of construction investment.

At the Congress, the Presidium requested delegates to focus and frankly discuss the following issues:

Firstly, discuss and approve the Political Report and the Self-Review Report of the incumbent Party Executive Committee submitted to the Congress to objectively and comprehensively assess and identify the causes and lessons learned from the results achieved, the successes, as well as the limitations and shortcomings in the leadership and practical direction of the Party Committee; at the same time, to discuss and decide on the orientations, goals, tasks, key breakthroughs, and major solutions to implement the orientations and goals for the 2025-2030 term. The most important point is to find solutions to translate the orientations, goals, and targets into reality.

Secondly, discuss and approve the consolidated report of feedback on the Draft Documents for the 14th National Party Congress and the Draft Political Report for the 1st Congress of the Government Party Committee, 2025-2030 term.

Thirdly, elect the Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term whose fully meeting the qualifications, truly exemplary in political and moral qualities, possessing sufficient vision, aspiration, intelligence, dedication, capability, resilience, and the courage to think, act, and make breakthroughs to lead in “Building a clean and strong Party Committee; innovating, creating, making breakthroughs; developing the Group sustainably in the era of the nation’s rise.”

Forthly, elect the delegation to attend the 1st Congress of the Government Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, representing the will and intellect of the EVN Party Committee, contributing to the success of the Government Party Congress, and at the same time having the ability to embrace the spirit of the Congress in order to effectively organize and implement the Resolution of the Government Party Committee Congress.

Comrade Dang Hoang An emphasized that building Vietnam Electricity into a strong economic group with modern governance, maintaining its key role in ensuring national power supply security and energy security, is the goal and aspiration of EVN workers and the trust and expectation of the Party, State, and people. Continuing to inherit and promote the achievements of the past 70 years of Vietnam’s revolutionary power sector, with the mission of always being one step ahead, especially in the new era when the whole country is striving together to bring the nation into a new era, the era of Vietnam’s rise under the Party’s leadership, the role and mission of the power sector must be given top priority.
