EVN warns about counterfeit EEMC transformer labels on market

Currently, Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation – Joint Stock Company (EEMC) is a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity (EVN). According to information from EEMC, in recent times, some small-scale manufacturers have exploited customer trust and the EEMC brand's reputation to produce and supply counterfeit and imitation distribution transformers. These counterfeit products are often labeled with fake tags, profiles, designs, and paint colors, and are falsely advertised as 'Dong Anh transformers.

These counterfeit products are often supplied to foreign-invested enterprises and private enterprises, which may lack information on how to identify genuine EEMC products. Using counterfeit transformers carries a high risk of serious incidents, which can negatively impact the quality of power supply, disrupt industrial and commercial operations, degrade the integrity of the national power grid, result in significant losses for customers, and severely damage EEMC’s brand and reputation.

To protect the interests of consumers and ensure the quality of the power grid system, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) would like to respectfully inform and advise customers and partners about the counterfeiting of transformer brands of Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation – Joint Stock Company (EEMC). At the same time, EVN requests units, partners, and electricity users to pay attention to the identification features of genuine EEMC transformers.

Customers can use QR code scanning applications on their smartphones (such as Zalo, Google Lens, etc.) to verify the authenticity of the product and look up basic information about the transformer (the retrieved information is displayed on EEMC’s official website). 5	Lead seal		The entire transformer is sealed with lead at the two corner bolts on the front panel and the oil sampling valve.
6	Measurement and testing results		The title includes the brand logo and the full company name: Dong Anh Electrical Equipment Corporation – Joint Stock Company. Includes a QR code for verifying accuracy against the code fixed to the logo nameplate during lookup.
