The conference was co-chaired by EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An and EVN President & CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan.

Event holds in person at EVN headquarters and connects online to 37 locations across the Group.
Ensuring reliable power supply amid rising electricity demand
During the first six months of 2026, electricity demand continued to rise sharply, particularly during the peak dry season. EVN's total commercial electricity sales exceeded 152.5 billion kWh, representing a 10.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Northern Vietnam continued to record the highest growth in commercial electricity consumption, increasing by 13.1% year-on-year.
Over the same period, the total electricity generated and imported by the national power system reached 171.54 billion kWh, up 9.85% from the corresponding period last year.
Notably, on June 25, 2026, Vietnam's national power system set new records, with daily electricity output reaching 1,215.4 million kWh and peak demand (Pmax) hitting 57,537MW. Northern Vietnam also recorded its highest-ever peak load and electricity consumption.
To meet operational requirements, EVN worked closely with the National System and Market Operator (NSMO) to dispatch power sources efficiently, optimize maintenance schedules for thermal power plants, operate hydropower reservoirs flexibly, and maintain high generating unit availability.
Thermal power plants operated stably throughout the peak dry season, while hydropower reservoirs were managed efficiently to conserve water resources and proactively store water for the 2026-2027 dry season.
EVN also coordinated effectively with the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) and Dong Bac Corporation to ensure a stable coal supply for electricity generation.
Operational performance indicators continued to improve. The System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) showed improvement compared to the same period last year, while transmission and distribution losses remained below the planned target.
Positive results across multiple areas of operation
In the area of electricity retail and customer services, EVN continued to accelerate its digital transformation efforts. Notably, the nationwide EVN Customer Service (EVN CSKH) application entered its pilot operation phase in mid-June 2026. In addition, all 12 Level-4 online electricity services continued to operate reliably through digital platforms.
EVN's Power Corporations effectively implemented Demand Side Management (DSM) programs during periods of extreme heat. A number of major industrial customers also registered to participate in the Demand Response (DR) program, helping create additional flexibility for power utilities in maintaining a reliable electricity supply during peak demand periods.
In terms of investment and construction, the Group's total investment value during the first half of the year was estimated at VND 55.05 trillion, while disbursements reached VND 47.561 trillion. Several key projects made significant progress. Most notably, the Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant project achieved an overall completion rate of more than 99%. Unit 1 was successfully synchronized with the national grid, while Unit 2 is scheduled to begin boiler ignition in July, with commercial operation targeted within 2026. The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project and the Bac Ai Pumped Storage Hydropower Project also continued to progress in line with their implementation schedules.
Regarding power grid development, EVN commenced construction on 89 transmission projects and energized 95 projects ranging from 110 kV to 500 kV. At the same time, the Group continued working with relevant authorities to resolve land clearance issues and accelerate the implementation of key transmission projects, thereby enhancing the power system's supply capacity in the coming years.
Preparing power supply plans for 2027

Chairman of EVN Board of Directors Dang Hoang An and EVN President & CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan co-chair conference.
At the conference, Pham Quynh, Deputy General Director of NSMO, highly appreciated the close coordination between EVN and NSMO over the past period, which has contributed to ensuring the safe and stable operation of the national power system, especially during the extreme heatwaves of the dry season. According to forecasts, the El Niño phenomenon may have a significant impact from September 2026 to April 2027, while electricity demand is expected to continue increasing. NSMO recommended that EVN continue ensuring adequate fuel supplies for power generation, maintain the availability of generating units, make thorough preparations for demand response programs, and proactively develop hydropower reservoir operation plans in readiness for the 2027 dry season.
Regarding the tasks for the remaining six months of the year, EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An requested all units to continue maintaining a high level of focus to ensure an adequate and safe electricity supply amid forecasts of increasingly complex weather conditions, storms, and natural disasters. At the same time, plans to ensure electricity supply for 2027 must be prepared from now on so as not to be caught unprepared under scenarios of rising electricity demand or unfavorable operating conditions.
With regard to investment and construction, the Chairman requested all units to focus on accomplishing the targets set out in the 2026 plan and to take determined actions to resolve difficulties and obstacles in order to accelerate project implementation, particularly urgent projects and key works aimed at enhancing the power supply capacity of the national power system.
In addition, the EVN Chairman emphasized the need to continue improving corporate governance in a more scientific and efficient manner, while promoting greater decentralization and delegation of authority in parallel with strengthened inspection and supervision, thereby improving governance efficiency and management capacity throughout the Group.

EVN President & CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan delivers remarks.
In response to the directives of the EVN Chairman, EVN President & CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan requested the entire Group to continue making every effort to accomplish the 2026 targets and tasks for production and business operations as well as investment and construction.
For the power generation sector, the EVN President & CEO instructed the relevant units to urgently work with coal suppliers to review the standards applicable to imported coal, develop an appropriate fuel supply plan, ensure sufficient fuel for system operation during the remaining months of the year, and prepare for the 2027 dry season.
For the Power Corporations, the EVN President & CEO requested them to continue improving load forecasting quality; conduct a comprehensive assessment of demand-side management and load shifting (DSM) programs to clearly determine the potential for load adjustment and reserve capacity during periods of extreme heat; and review the effectiveness of electricity-saving programs while proposing solutions to improve their implementation in the coming period.

Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union Do Duc Hung delivers remarks.
