Statistics as of the end of July 2026 show that Quang Ninh Province has recorded 1,291 customers who have installed rooftop solar power systems, with a total installed capacity of approximately 88.91MWp. Of these, 310 customers export surplus electricity to the grid, with a total capacity of 3.78MWp, while 981 customers have installed systems under the self-generation and self-consumption model, with a total capacity of 85.13MWp. The number of customers installing and commissioning these systems has continued to grow steadily month by month. In July 2026 alone, 234 new customers across the province put their systems into operation.

A notable feature of Quang Ninh’s green energy expansion has been the power sector’s pioneering role. Rather than limiting its efforts to communication and awareness-raising activities, Quang Ninh Power Company has taken a proactive, hands-on approach by installing rooftop solar power systems at the offices and operations buildings of its affiliated units. At the same time, the company has actively encouraged its employees to experience the benefits of this energy source firsthand in their own homes.

To date, 78 employees of Quang Ninh Power Company have installed rooftop solar power systems at their homes, with a total installed capacity of 534kWp. Additionally, five solar power systems at the company’s headquarters and operational buildings  - with a total capacity of 225kWp - have been successfully commissioned to meet on-site electricity needs.

To sustain this momentum, Quang Ninh Power Company will continue to support customers in the coming period by providing technical assistance and grid connection support, while encouraging the development of rooftop solar power systems integrated with energy storage solutions, particularly in mountainous areas. These efforts aim to enhance energy independence and improve electricity-use efficiency, even under extreme weather conditions.

From the power sector’s pioneering efforts to the community’s enthusiastic response, rooftop solar power is gradually becoming an integral part of electricity use in Quang Ninh Province. These achievements clearly reflect the growing trend toward clean energy consumption while demonstrating the province’s determination and strategic direction in implementing the Government’s energy transition policy.
