EVNHCMC President and CEO Nguyen Van Thanh and NSMO President and CEO Nguyen Duc Ninh sign and exchange Cooperation Agreement in presence of representatives from both parties.

Under the agreement, NSMO and EVNHCMC will strengthen coordination in operational planning and operating studies for the 220 - 110kV power grid; share real-time operational data; forecast power demand and electricity consumption; and jointly manage distributed energy resources, rooftop solar power systems, energy storage systems, and emerging types of electricity loads.

The two parties will also explore the application of new technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital twin models for power grids, while enhancing the exchange of experience in safety and information security, support the modernization and digital transformation of power system operations.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, EVNHCMC President and CEO Nguyen Van Thanh said that, in recent years, the close coordination between EVNHCMC and NSMO - particularly with the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre - has made an important contribution to ensuring a safe and reliable electricity supply for the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.

EVNHCMC’s leadership emphasized the importance of coordination between the two organizations as Ho Chi Minh City’s power system continues to expand, electricity demand grows rapidly, and the generation mix undergoes significant changes. The system’s current peak demand has reached 9,668MW, accompanied by the rapid growth of rooftop solar power, energy storage systems, electric vehicles, data centers, and other high-tech loads. These developments require enhanced forecasting capabilities, data sharing, and increasingly flexible and modern coordination in power system operations.

EVNHCMC President and CEO Nguyen Van Thanh affirmed that EVNHCMC will work closely with NSMO, proactively share data, and mobilize the necessary resources to effectively implement the agreed initiatives. Through these efforts, the two parties aim to contribute to ensuring energy security and meeting Ho Chi Minh City’s development needs in the new period.
