Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Duc Thien, General Director of EVNNPC; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Hoi, Rector of the Northern Power College (NEPC).

Delegates perform inauguration ceremony for Electrical Safety and Hazard Identification Training Facility
The Electrical Safety and Hazard Identification Training Facility covers an area of 300 square meters and is designed with nine training modules, including practice areas that recreate actual field conditions and a situation simulation system using virtual reality (VR) technology.
The facility is used to provide safety training for employees who directly work with power grids and electrical equipment at EVNNPC’s member units. The training sessions focus on specific hazards and unsafe situations such as electric shock, step voltage, falling objects from heights, pole collapse, safety harness failure, high-voltage induced voltage, violations of safety clearances, and falls from height.

EVNNPC General Director Nguyen Duc Thien delivers his remarks

Technical employees participate in simulated training exercises
The facility is the result of cooperation among EVNNPC, the Northern Power College, China Southern Power Grid Company, and Lancang-Mekong Energy Consulting Co., Ltd. The parties jointly have conducted surveys, developed the training program, designed and installed the facility, conducted equipment testing, and organized training for a core team of instructors.
To ensure the facility operates effectively, EVNNPC General Director Nguyen Duc Thien requested that the Northern Power College continue to master the technology, regularly update training scenarios based on actual production conditions, improve training content, and strengthen the capabilities of its instructors. EVNNPC’s member units should make training at the facility a regular activity while linking training outcomes to the development of a safety culture within each unit.
The Electrical Safety and Hazard Identification Training Facility is expected to help employees not only understand the procedures they must follow but also clearly understand the reasons behind each safety requirement and proactively identify risks before undertaking each task. Accordingly, the effectiveness of the facility should not be measured solely by the number of training courses or trainees, but more importantly by changes in work practices and the ability to prevent accidents at the workplace.
