To date, the Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant Project has recorded more than 25 million safe working hours. As the project enters an intensive commissioning phase, measures related to health, safety, and environmental protection continue to be consistently maintained in line with actual site requirements.
According to Power Project Management Board No. 2 (EVNPMB2), this achievement has been maintained throughout the project’s implementation, involving numerous contractors, organizations, and workers at the construction site. In particular, as the focus of work gradually shifts toward commissioning and the and adjustment and calibration of equipment systems, strict compliance with procedures, effective work control, and close coordination among all parties remain essential requirements.

Health, safety, and environmental measures are consistently maintained throughout commissioning of Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant.
One of the key priorities has been the training and guidance provided to workers before and during their work. According to EVNPMB2, the project has conducted more than 70,000 safety training sessions covering 20 specialized work categories. Through these programs, workers are equipped with and regularly updated on the necessary requirements to perform their tasks in accordance with their specific positions and actual site conditions.
Alongside training, the project participants continue to maintain on-site safety inspections and supervision, comply with occupational safety and personal protective equipment requirements, and organize work in accordance with applicable regulations. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management is implemented throughout every stage of the project, from construction and installation to the commissioning of equipment systems.
The Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant Project is currently entering its final stage. Unit 1 has successfully operated at 100% of its rated capacity, while commissioning activities for Unit 2 are continuing as scheduled.
Construction of the Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant Project was launched by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) in December 2021. The project comprises two generating units with a total installed capacity of 1,403MW. As a major power source, the project will make a significant contribution to the power system, particularly in northern Vietnam, thereby helping to strengthen energy security and maintain the stable operation of the regional power system.
