Preparing a power generation plan for the peak dry season and the whole year of 2025, Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3) has proactively deployed effective solutions to ensure that power plants will be well prepared to meet dispatching orders of the national power system.
During the peak dry season from March to July 2025, EVNGENCO3's total planned electricity generation output is 13.84 billion kWh. Mr. Le Van Danh - General Director of EVNGENCO3 said that to ensure coal-fired thermal power plants operate uninterruptedly and supply electricity according to load demand, the Corporation has proactively worked with fuel suppliers such as Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) and Dong Bac Corporation to secure sufficient coal supply for the plants according to the contracts. With the current coal inventories in storage areas of Vinh Tan 2 and Mong Duong 1 power plants and the commitment of coal suppliers, the Corporation will ensure sufficient coal for electricity production in the dry season of 2025, ready to meet the high dispatching requirements of the system.
As for gas-fired power plants owned by EVNGENCO3 (Phu My 2.1, Phu My 1, Phu My 4, Ba Ria) and power plants under EVNGENCO3’s management according BOT contracts (Phu My 2.2; Phu My 3), the Corporation has directed the power plants to proactively work with gas suppliers and closely monitor the gas supply situation to ensure optimal power generation plans. At the same time, the plants must store DO oil according to the prescribed norms and prepare to receive LNG gas as contracted for backup when the plants are dispatched. Along with fuel self-reliance, the plants must secure its availability by well performing its repair and maintenance programs to respond quickly according to the system's operating method.
Hydropower plants such as Buon Kuop, Srepok 3, Buon Tua Srah, Vinh Son, Song Hinh, Se San 3A, and Thac Ba must actively monitor hydrological situations, develop optimal operation plans following water inflow volumes in the dry season, maintain environmental flows according to regulations and ensure water supply for downstream areas, serving irrigation and daily life needs of people.

Gas receiving system maintenance in Phu My Power Plant has been proactively carried out since beginning of the year.
In February 2025, EVNGENCO3's power plants generated 1.94 billion kWh, an increase of 4.6% over the same period in 2024. In the first two months of the year, the accumulated electricity output reached 3.979 billion kWh, reaching 108.4% of the plan and an increase of 4.7% over the same period last year.
