EVNHCMC ensures safe and stable power supply for Ho Chi Minh City in first half of 2026

Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions to improve management capacity, modernize power grid infrastructure, and enhance service quality, in the first six months of 2026, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) operated the power system safely and continuously during the peak dry season, ensuring power supply to serve socio-economic development and the lives of people in the area.

According to information from EVNHCMC, commercial electricity output in the first half of the year reached 29,358.4 million kWh, an increase of 7.4% compared to that in the same period last year. Power supply reliability continued to improve, with both SAIFI (average number of customer outages) and SAIDI (average customer outage duration) indicators showing improvement compared to the same period in 2025.
Over the past six months, the Corporation has carried out 10,793 electrical repair and maintenance operations using hotline technology (repairs on live power lines), an increase of 864 operations compared to the same period in 2025. To date, 100% of 110kV substations are operated under an unmanned, remote-controlled model, and 100% of the public medium-voltage power grid is operated automatically.
By the end of June, Ho Chi Minh City had 3,952,490 electricity customers, an increase of 29,325 customers, equivalent to 0.75% compared to the end of 2025. Of these, residential customers accounted for 91.45%, and non-residential customers accounted for 8.55%.
EVNHCMC also continues to promote digital transformation in service provision. The corporation has provided 100% of electricity services online at level 4, creating conditions for customers to complete procedures quickly and conveniently.
To date, 100% of customers pay their electricity bills through cashless payment methods, accounting for 100% of the Corporation's electricity revenue. Customers can pay via Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, SMS Banking, automatic debit, e-wallets, bank cards, QR codes, or the EVNHCMC customer service website. Currently, EVNHCMC has collaborated with 21 banks and 7 payment intermediaries to diversify payment channels.
