9 outstanding achievements in 2017
According to Chairman of EVN Member Council Duong Quang Thanh, in 2017, EVN has overcome many difficulties and challenges to fully accomplish the set-out objectives and tasks. Of which, 9 outstanding achievements are represented as follows:
First, EVN has sufficiently supplied power for the socio-economic development of the country and been highly appreciated by the Prime Minister and social community.
Second, EVN has secured safe and reliable power supply for APEC 2017, especially for the Leaders’ Week in Da Nang in November 2017.
Third, EVN's electricity access index increased 32 places compared with that of 2016. This remarkable growth contributes significantly to improving the business environment of Vietnam in 2017 and it is highly appreciated by the Prime Minister.
Fourth, EVN has continued to effectively implement the Scheme for improving the efficiency of production and business. In 2017, all indexes of power supply reliability, power loss reduction, labor productivity improvement, etc., all reached and overfufilled the plan. Especially, according to the General Statistics Office, the productivity of EVN is 10 times higher than the average productivity of the society.
Fifth, the Group has preserved and developed capital source. With the gained revenue of over VND 293 trillion, in 2017, EVN first reached the second place in the ranking of 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam.
Sixth, EVN basically completed the content of the theme of 2017 on "Promoting Science and Technology". This was clearly evidenced through the application of Information Technology in business and customer services; management and operation of the power grid, especially the construction and operation of unmanned substations surpassing the targeted plan.
Seventh, EVN has well performed the restructuring task under Decision No.852 of the Prime Minister, including the capital divestment, reduction in non-advantageous areas of the Group; completion of equitization plan of Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3).
Eighth, EVN has well implemented the inspection, prevention of corruption.
Ninth, in 2017, power corporations and power companies have promptly overcome the incidents, timely supplying power back to the people after the storms No. 2.10, 12.
Five key tasks for 2018
In order to fulfill the above-mentioned objectives and tasks assigned by the Government, Chairman Duong Quang Thanh instructed member units to focus on the following five key tasks:
First, supply sufficient power for the socio-economic development of the country; In particular, it is essential to ensure the efficient operation of existing sources and grids, avoiding the occurrence of prolonged incidents disrupting power supply; put power source and grid projects into operation as planned in 2018.
Second, ensure the efficiency in production, business and financial health, increase labor productivity and ensure the overall efficiency for the Group and its units, including the decreasing rates of 7.5% as directed by the Government.
Third, complete the institutional affairs; infrastructure construction to ensure safe, stable and efficient operation; improving the quality of human resources - this is also the theme for 2018.
Fourth, promote the development of science and technology. The achievements of 2017 will be the premise for EVN to continue promoting this work in the future.
Finally, the Group shall proactively seek for primary energy sources to replace the exhausted sources and to meet the demand for power generation and ensure national energy security.
