EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai meets with Impact Electrons Siam (Thailand)

On June 20, in Hanoi, Mr. Ngo Son Hai, Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), held a meeting with a delegation from Impact Electrons Siam (IES) to discuss potential cooperation in the energy sector and regional electricity infrastructure connectivity within ASEAN.
Leading the IES delegation were Mr. Peck Khamkanist, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Mr. Nat Hutanuwatr, Chief Operating Officer (COO).
During the meeting, IES leaders expressed their appreciation to EVN for its active support during the implementation of wind power projects in Southeast Laos, particularly for the timely investment and completion of the Monsoon–Thanh My 500kV transmission line on Vietnamese territory (Nam Giang District, Quang Nam Province).

The IES representatives also presented several proposals regarding collaboration in renewable energy development and regional electricity infrastructure connectivity, aiming to enhance cross-border electricity exchange among ASEAN countries. The company expressed its interest in working with EVN to explore technical solutions and appropriate models to optimize the existing transmission system and foster regional energy connectivity in line with global development trends.
In his remarks, Vice President Ngo Son Hai acknowledged the partner’s proactive engagement and expressed EVN’s willingness to continue close cooperation in the future.
Regarding proposals related to cross-border infrastructure connectivity, EVN welcomed initiatives that contribute to the development of a regional interconnected grid. EVN leadership emphasized that such cooperation must undergo thorough evaluation in terms of technical feasibility, legal frameworks, and practical implementation, especially amid the ongoing transition toward a greener and more digitalized power system.
Both parties agreed to maintain ongoing technical discussions and closely coordinate efforts to materialize the proposed directions, ensuring alignment with Vietnam’s sustainable energy development policies and a spirit of transparency and collaboration.
