The EDF delegation was led by Mr. Vakis Ramany – EDF Senior Vice President in charge of international nuclear power development projects. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Olivier Brochet – Ambassador of France to Vietnam.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the cooperation between EVN and EDF over the years, as well as orientations for further collaboration in the coming period. Main topics discussed included experience sharing in power generation development, human resource training, energy transition, innovation, grid modernization, and several related technical fields.

EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between EVN and EDF over many years and noted that EDF is one of the experienced partners in the energy sector, particularly in the management and operation of power systems and the development of highly complex power generation technologies.

EVN’s leadership also shared an overview of the development needs of Vietnam’s power system in the coming period, in the context of continuously growing electricity demand and increasingly urgent requirements for ensuring energy security, promoting energy transition, and achieving sustainable development. On that basis, EVN expressed its desire to continue maintaining channels for exchange, learning from international experience, and promoting practical cooperation with EDF in appropriate areas.

Representatives of EDF expressed their appreciation for the cooperative relationship with EVN and reaffirmed their readiness to continue exchanges and coordination with EVN in areas of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides also discussed several cooperation programs and projects that have been and are being considered, including activities related to training, technical support, and experience sharing in power system operation, smart grids, energy transition, and solutions to enhance power system flexibility.
