EVN Vice President Nguyen Dinh Phuoc meets with United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA)

On the morning of May 19 in Hanoi, EVN Vice President Nguyen Dinh Phuoc received and held a working session with a delegation from the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to discuss several potential areas of cooperation.

Attending the meeting was Mr. Alid Camara, Regional Director for Project Finance and Implementation for the Indo-Pacific region at USTDA.

EVN and USTDA Discuss Potential Areas of Cooperation in the Energy Sector

In Vietnam, USTDA has implemented various technical assistance activities in the fields of transportation, aviation, energy, clean water, and other infrastructure sectors. In the energy sector, USTDA has previously supported a number of studies and technical cooperation programs in Vietnam related to power, gas, wind power projects, and the integration of renewable energy sources into the power system.

With EVN, USTDA has conducted several technical cooperation activities in the past, including projects related to the information technology roadmap for the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), IT architecture for smart grid development, studies on energy storage system development in Vietnam, and several exchange and reverse trade mission programs on smart grids, LNG, energy storage, and related technologies.

During the meeting, EVN Vice President Nguyen Dinh Phuoc highly appreciated USTDA’s interest in Vietnam’s energy sector and shared several key orientations of EVN in the process of energy transition, power system modernization, enhancement of grid operation capability, and research into new technological solutions suitable for the development needs of Vietnam’s power system.

The two sides agreed to continue maintaining information exchange and exploring suitable cooperation opportunities in the coming time, based on EVN’s practical needs, the development orientation of Vietnam’s power sector, and the applicable regulatory framework.
