Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors Dang Hoang An works with leader of International China Energy Engineering Corporation

On 25 March 2024, in Hanoi, Chairman of EVN's Board of Directors Dang Hoang An welcomed and worked with Mr. Kieu Huc Ban - President and CEO of International China Energy Engineering Corporation (International CEEC) on the cooperation contents between the two sides in the energy field.

Also attending the meeting, was EVN’s Vice President Ngo Son Hai.

International CEEC is a unit of China Energy Engineering Corporation. In recent times, the Corporation has invested in and contracted more than 70 power projects in Vietnam, including the Hai Duong thermal power plant project (1200MW) developed according to a complete model such as investment, construction, and operation.

Mr. Kieu Huc Ban emphasized that International CEEC highly values and appreciates EVN's contributions to Vietnam's energy industry. With gained experience, the International CEEC wishes to promote cooperation with EVN in the field of upgrading and converting thermal power plants; energy storage; LNG power production; development of green energy sources, etc, thereby jointly developing the green energy market in the context of global energy transition.

Vietnam is currently setting the target of energy transition and carbon neutrality by 2050. To contribute to achieving that target, EVN will promote fuel conversion technology for coal power plants and green hydrogen production for energy storage, etc. Therefore, EVN always welcomes partners interested in investing in this field.

At the meeting, leaders of both sides shared the difficulties and challenges of each side in the current energy development context as well as development priorities in the coming time. At the same time, the two sides exchanged some related information such as relevant policies on Vietnam's electricity industry; efficiency-enhancing technologies of coal-fired power plants to reduce carbon emissions, etc.
