More than 102km of 110kV lines cross the sea
According to the decision approving the investment policy of the project to supply power from the national grid to Con Dao district, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be the agency deciding on project investment and EVN is the investor. The total investment of the project is VND 4,950 billion, of which EVN's capital is about VND 2,423 billion, and the Central budget capital is VND 2,526 billion.
The project scale includes new construction of about 102.5 km of 110kV line, 01 circuit, from the feeder of 110kV line at Vinh Chau 220kV substation - Soc Trang province to Con Dao 110/22kV substation; expanding 01 bay of 110kV line at Vinh Chau 220kV substation, Soc Trang province; new construction of Con Dao 110/22kV substation.
Con Dao district is currently supplied power from 9 diesel generator units with a total capacity of 11.82MW; of which the available capacity is 9.7MW. Once completed, the project will help supply power stably and safely to the power grid on the island, meeting the socio-economic development tasks of Con Dao district, and contributing to ensuring national defense and security and national island sovereignty.
According to the progress report, currently, the project has been agreed upon by ministries, branches, and localities on the following agreements: route agreement, clearance agreement, fire prevention and fighting, mine clearance, traffic road crossing agreement, and so on. Other contents such as environmental impact assessment reports, land use plan registration, etc. are being urgently implemented.

Based on the implementation situation, in order to soon have a basis for implementing the next steps to ensure project progress, EVN requires the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to request the Ministry of Industry and Trade to soon have the documents appraisal results on adjusting project investment policies and report to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval. At the same time, soon consider updating the land use planning of Con Dao district in accordance with the provincial planning and soon approve the 2024 land use plan of Con Dao district to have a basis for project implementation, ensuring a safe distance according to regulations...
