EVN strives to ensure power supply for the strong growth of Hai Phong city

That was one of the outstanding contents at the meeting between Vietnam Electricity and the Party Committee, People's Committee of Hai Phong City, on March 13. At the meeting, leaders of Vietnam Electricity and the Party Committee, People's Committee of Hai Phong City jointly assessed the power supply situation and implementation of investment in the construction of a number of power projects in the locality.

Attending the meeting, for Hai Phong city, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; and leaders of relevant departments, branches, branches and localities.

For Vietnam Electricity, the attendants included the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EVN Dang Hoang An; Member of EVN's Board of Directors Nguyen Duc Cuong; together with leaders of specialized departments, leaders of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC).

Efforts to ensure power supply for the city's strong growth

Hai Phong city is one of the localities with the highest load growth rate in the entire North. In the period 2021 - 2023, commercial electricity in the whole city will grow at an average of 8.63%/year.

Recently, EVN and its member units have completed and put into operation power projects ensuring quality and progress, and are implementing many power grid projects as planned.

Currently, EVNNPT is implementing: Hai Phong 500kV substation project; An Lao 220kV substation and connection; Hai Phong - Thai Binh 500kV line; Duong Kinh 220kV substation; 220kV line, 500kV substation of Hai Phong - Gia Loc, and so on.

In the period 2021 - 2025, EVNNPC shall implement 39 projects with a total investment capital of about VND 2,200 billion, of which 10 projects have completed energization and 29 projects are undergoing investment/construction. Hai Phong Power Company also invested in about 190 medium and low-voltage power grid projects with a total investment capital of about VND 2,214 billion, currently 103 projects completed.

Focus on solving problems

To carry out investment in power projects according to planning, EVN requests the Party Committee and People's Committee of Hai Phong City to continue creating conditions and support EVNNPT and EVNNPC in making agreement on the line route and transformer station location, compensation, and site clearance according to the required schedule; ensure sufficient land fund for power projects according to planning. It is also required to direct Departments, Committees, and functional branches to review plans and development situations of industrial parks, industrial clusters, service urban areas, etc. so that EVN could develop plans and scenarios to ensure appropriate and proactive power supply in construction investment.
