The conference was attended by Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang; leader of the National Power Transmission Corporation; National Power System Dispatch Center (A0), Central Power System Dispatch Center (A3), Southern Power System Dispatch Center (A2); power companies, renewable energy plants, departments, branches, and local authorities in 9 provinces of the Central region - Central Highlands.
About 10,000MW is connected to the power grid of the Central region - Central Highlands
By the end of 2023, the total renewable energy power capacity connected to the transmission grid managed by PTC3 is 5,861MW, including renewable energy sources connected to the distribution grid managed by the Central Power Corporation and the Southern Power Corporation, the total capacity of renewable energy sources connected to the power grid in the South Central - Central Highlands region is up to about 10,000 MW, accounting for 50% of the power source structure in the region.
Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of Power sector units in coordinating and accompanying Renewable Energy power plants
The high ratio of connected renewable energy sources leads to some 220kV lines and 220kV transformers in the area always operating in full load mode, so Dispatch Centers A0, A2, A3 are having to apply measures to change wiring to take full advantage of the load capacity of 220kV lines. Therefore, PTC3 encountered many difficulties in safely operating the transmission grid, releasing the full capacity of power sources from plants, and so on.
PTC3 Director Nguyen Cong Thang speaking at the conference
The Electricity Industry has supported and accompanied renewable energy power plants
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee said that currently in Binh Dinh province, there are 21 power plants in operation generating power with a total capacity of 878.9MW; including 4 wind power plants (total capacity of 107.4MW) and 5 solar power plants (total capacity of 423.6MW). In addition, there are also grid-connected rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of about 223MWp. Renewable energy source projects have contributed to ensuring national energy security, contributing to local socio-economic development, and opening up prospects for energy development in the province in the coming time.
In particular, PTC3 has invested in, managed, and operated the power transmission grid system to ensure safety, reliability, and safety contributing to releasing the capacity of renewable energy projects, Vice Nguyen Cong Hoang noted.
