100% of area has basically sufficient water for cultivation
Accordingly, to ensure water supply for the downstream as planned, Vietnam Electricity has increased power generation about 2.5-3 days before the water supply phases to raise the water level downstream of the river. The total water discharge volume of hydropower reservoirs in both phases is 2.78 billion m3, about 0.72 billion m3 lower than the expected total discharge volume (3.5 billion m3); and 0.84 billion lower than that in 2023.
After 2 phases of water collection, the total area supplied with water reached 99%, and the remaining area actively prepared water sources. As of February 27, the whole area basically collected sufficient water.
According to the assessment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the water collection schedule for each phase is determined to be consistent with the high tide period, and specifically calculated using mathematical models to determine the suitable water regulation period with local water needs for cultivation and saving water resources for hydropower reservoirs.
By February 27, entire cultivated area basically had sufficient water
