Since September 2014, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) has invested in building a 22kV submarine cable system from Binh Hai commune, Binh Son district to Ly Son Island, with a total investment cost of more than VND 625 billion.
Up to now, it has been 10 years since residents in the Ly Son Island district have been using grid-connected electricity, which has dramatically changed their residential and economic life.

Coming to Ly Son after 10 years of being electrified from the national grid, it can be seen the lives of people on the island district have been thriving. They have bought electricity-saving electrical equipment, and developed tourism and the island's economy.

Mr. Ngo Tan Cu - General Director of the Central Power Corporation stated that CPC’s member power companies in 13 provinces are located along the Central and Central Highlands with mountains, seas, and islands; widespread land, sparsely populated, and frequently encountering storms and floods.
With the above geographical condition, over the past time, EVNCPC has always strived to ensure electricity supply for people, including islands such as Ly Son (Quang Ngai), Nhon Chau (Binh Dinh), and Cu Lao Cham (Quang Nam), which have been electrified with the national power grid. Only Con Co Island is using diesel and solar power currently.
