Dak Lak proposes including three solar power projects into the National Power Development Master Plan

The Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak province has proposed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade should include three solar power projects in Ea Sup district into the National Power Development Master Plan.

The proposed projects include: Xuan Thien Solar Power Complex with a capacity of 2,000 MW and a total investment cost of USD 2.2 billion; Green Forest Clean Energy Complex with a capacity of 1,117 MW and an investment cost of USD 1.2 billion and a 250 MW Long Thanh Solar Power Plant having a total investment cost of USD 320 million.

According to the clean energy development plan of Dak Lak province, by 2020, from 4 to 7 solar power projects with a total capacity of 800 - 1,000 MW will be invested; by 2030 increasing the capacity of existing solar power plants and developing new plants, reaching a total capacity of 3,500 - 4,000 MW.

The tentative investment projects have been included in the Power Development Master Plan of Dak Lak province in the period 2016 - 2025 with a view to 2035 and the Solar Power Development Master Plan in the province until 2020, with vision to 2030.

At present 18 investors from Vietnam, South Korea, the United States and Thailand have registered, surveyed and developed project proposals with a total capacity of about 15,000 MW.
