Despite impact of Covid-19 pandemic, commercial electricity in the first half of 2021 still grew by 8.36%

In the first 6 months of 2021, commercial electricity of the entire Vietnam Electricity (EVN) was estimated at 111.75 billion kWh, grew up 8.36% over the same period last year. EVN has ensured suffering electricity for socio-economic development, despite facing many difficulties in operation and power production and business.

In which, 27 Northern provinces and cities have the highest power demand in the country. Northern Power Corporation is the only unit to grow commercial electricity at over 2-digits (11.32%), the highest among the 5 power corporations.

For the whole country in terms of load components, the industrial sector consumes electricity the most, with the growth of commercial electricity reaching 12.95% over the same period last year. The power demand for the industry is equally high in all 3 regions.

SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) Power Reliability Index(average interruption time per customer per year) in 6 months reached 139 minutes/customer.

EVN ensures safe and stable electricity to serve customers in the first 6 months of 2021

EVN has also continued to improve the electricity access index. In the first 6 months of 2021, EVN provided electricity through the medium-voltage grid to more than 5,100 customers with an average time of 3.07 days, 0.1 days lower than the average of 2020. EVN has implementing drastic and substantive reforms in business procedures, creating beneficial changes for people and businesses in accessing electricity. Thereby, EVN continuing to contribute to the improvement of the business environment and national competitiveness.

In the last 6 months of the year, EVN sets a target of commercial electricity reaching 116.4 billion kWh. At the same time, EVN strives to maintain the electricity access index to reach the position of top 4 in ASEAN.
