Until 2020, EVN shall be one of the four leading power units of Southeast Asia region. Although the power system scale of Vietnam is now ranked the 2nd in the region but the labour productivity, technology application have till been at low level.
Therefore, in order to realize the above goal, EVN has no other way but to apply science and technology to enhance the labor productivity; develop modern power system, operate it economically, safely, efficiently.
EVN possibly applies technologies of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution into 3 major fields, include: Operation of the power system, business - customer services and corporate governance. In which, it is orientated to build smart power plants, upgrade operating systems, promote automation, digitization in customer services, etc.
According to Mr. Dang Huy Cuong - Member of EVN Member Council, the Head of the Steering Board of preparation for this Project proposal, the 4.0 Industrial Revolution helps the Power sector reduce operation and maintenance costs through predictive maintenance and direct monitoring; at the same time increase the operation duration of equipment, thereby raising the power output, maximizing the systems.
At the meeting, members of Steering Board also analyze difficulties, challenges that Power sector will have to face when the complexity of power system considerably increases and requires new methods as well as technologies to gain successful operation.
