EVN has 5 projects that won Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2022

The closing and awarding ceremony of the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award - WIPO Award 2022 took place on May 31, in Hanoi. EVN has 5 honored author groups with 5 works.

The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award is annually organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, to honor scientists and technologists who had works of great scientific, socio-economic value that have been effectively applied in Vietnam.

In 2022, out of 128 projects participating in the competition, the Jury Board selected 43 excellent products to award, including 4 First Prizes, 9 Second Prizes, 15 Third Prizes, and 15 Consolation Prizes. These are works that are being applied in production, bringing high economic efficiency, helping to replace import needs, and creating a technology market for life.

The prizes were awarded to 6 field groups including mechanical automation (9 works), materials (6 works), information-electronic-telecommunication technology (5 works), biology (6 works), climate change response technology (10 works), energy saving and new energy (7 works).

In the field of energy saving and the use of new energy, the author groups in EVN have won 2 Second Prizes and 3 Third Prizes.

5 works by author groups in EVN won the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2022, including:

- Second Prize: The project "Research and develop applications on smart devices to serve the operation and training of mobile working groups at Central Power Corporation", group of authors: MSc Le Hoang Anh Dung – EVNCPC Vice President, Engineer Phan Thanh Dung, Engineer Tran Khac Tuan, and Engineer Tan Quoc Bao; Chairing unit: Central Power Information Technology Company - Central Power Corporation.

- Second Prize: The project "Research and develop rooftop solar power monitoring and control system (SEMS), group of authors: MSc Tran Dung (director), Engineer Thai Thanh Nam and Engineer Nguyen Van Luc; Chairing unit: Central Power Electronic Measurement Equipment Manufacturing Center (CPCEMEC)

- Third Prize: The project "Parameters selection method of power system stabilizer (PSS2A/2B) to improve the reliability and stability of generating units", group of authors: MSc Dao Thanh Oai, Engineer Dao Ngoc Son, and Engineer Hoang Hai; Chairing unit: Department of Science - Technology and Environment of EVN.

- Third Prize: The project "Research and application of new technology using low-loss transformers on Da Nang City's power grid to reduce emissions, reduce power loss and improve grid reliability", group of authors: MSc Le Van Phu, MSc Le Hong Cuong, MSc Tang Thi Khanh Vy, and MSc Nguyen Thi My Van; Chairing unit: Da Nang Power Company Limited.

- Third Prize: The project "Research, calculation and analysis of solutions to ensure safety for hotline repair on 22kV grid”, group of authors: MSc Nguyen Binh Phuong, MSc Nguyen Thai Tung, Ngo Gia Hoi, Engineer Ho Quoc Viet, and MSc Truong Tung Chau; Chairing unit: Da Nang Power Company Limited.

The award has encouraged the discovery and creation of scientific and technological works capable of solving the urgent requirements of reality, improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Hoang Giang launched the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award 2023.
