It was recognized that in the year 2017, many difficulties and challenges persisted in EVN's electricity production and supply activities. However, EVN basically fulfilled its targeted assignments, including ensuring electricity supply to the country and serving important socio-political events, especially the APEC 2017 Summit. At the same time, the power system has been controlled and operated in a safe manner.
Some main indicators were shown as follows: electricity production and purchase of EVN reached 192.45 billion kWh, increasing by 8.6% compared with 2016; the national power sales achieved 174.05 billion kWh, an increase of 8.92%. the Getting Electricity indicator of Vietnam achieved 78.69/100 points, moving upwards 32 steps against 2016, ranking 64th out of 190 nations / economies.
The power supply reliability in 2017 increased remarkably compared to 2016: The system average interruption duration (SAIDI) was 1,077 minutes, down 35%; the system average interruption frequency (SAIFI) was 9.7 times per customer, down 7.5%; the momentary average interruption frequency (MAIFI) was 1.38 times per customer, down 8.5%; The total power loss rate of EVN was 7.47%, 0.13% lower than the targeted plan.
An additional 2,135 MW capacity was added to the power system, achieving 130% of the plan. 239 power network projects ranging from 110 to 500 kV have been completed with a total of 2,160 km of transmission lines and a capacity of over 15,500 MVA of substations.
The year 2017 was also marked by the undertaking of EVN to supply electricity to 11 out of 12 island districts countrywide after taking over the power supply responsibility in the Spratly Islands (Khanh Hoa) and Con Co island (Quang Tri).

In terms of financial performance, EVN has kept preserving and developing the state capital. The total consolidated asset value of EVN is estimated at VND 707,270 billion by the end of 2017 (an increase of VND 15,053 billion compared to 2016). Of which the owner’s equity was VND 216,510 billion (an increase of VND 11,275 billion).
EVN has persisted with the corporate restructuring roadmap, after the Prime Minister approves the Master Plan for Rearranging and Restructuring Enterprises under EVN in the period 2017 - 2020.
In particular, in 2017, the capital divestment and reduction of EVN and its subsidiaries was performed effectively. Specifically, the divestiture and reduction of capital has been performed in 8 joint stock companies with the capital divestiture / reduction value of VND 269.54 billion, the earnings of VND 386.58 billion, and the surplus of VND 117 billion.
Together with the summarization of corporate performance in 2017, the Conference set out the major targets, indicators, assignments and solutions for the year 2018, with the aim of ensuring electricity supply for the socio - economic development of the country and people's life with increasingly improved quality of electricity supply and customer service; At the same time, EVN would carry on its corporate restructure, rearrangement and perfect its organizational systems in line with the orientation of restructuring the power sector of the Government.
