EVN highly recommends 100% its officials and employees actively respond to Earth Hour 2018 campaign

Vietnam Electricity issues Document No.930/EVN-QHCD+KD dated 28 February 2018 on requiring leaders of subsidiaries to coordinate with their trade unions to launch, propagate and mobilize officials, employees actively respond to the Earth Hour 2018 Campaign.

   EVN highly recommends that all officials and employees of the Group in the nationwide voluntarily turn off lights and other unnecessary electrical equipment at their unit’s headquarters and houses during the main event of the Earth Hour 2018 Campaign, which is going to take place from 20:30 to 21:30, Saturday, 24 March 2018.

This is the 10th year EVN has participated in responding to the Earth Hour Campaign as a sponsor and co-operator of the Campaign.

EVN requires its power corporations to direct provincial/city power companies nationwide to register for and organize activities to responding to the Earth Hour 2018 Campaign in their area; organize propaganda activities of using electricity economically and effectively in association with responding to the Campaign such as: Printing and distributing leaflets of power saving and propaganda of the Campaign for customers; applying posters at customer transaction points, headquarters of electricity units, agencies, organizations, enterprises, schools and public areas; coordinating with the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces/cities to hang banners of the Campaign in major streets in the area, etc.

Power companies shall coordinate with local press agencies and information systems to actively propagate and promote the Campaign and power saving activities.

The Group also requests Hanoi Power Corporation to coordinate with relevant units to properly prepare and secure power supply for the main event of the Campaign without affecting the power supply to other activities of customer, as well.

The Campaign in Vietnam is hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the theme "Go More Green", aimed at  executing the propaganda on energy saving, environmental protection and combat to climate change.
