EVN works with USAID on energy cooperation in coming time

On 1 February 2024, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Electricity Power Research Institute (EPRI) on cooperation activities and orientations in the coming time.

Attending the meeting, there was EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam; leaders of the EVN's specialized departments. 

On the partner side, there was Ms. Ella Hoxha - Director of the Urban Energy Security Project in Vietnam (under USAID); Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of the Urban Energy Security Project in Vietnam; Mr. Paul James Pickering - Director of Southeast Asia and India, EPRI; Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam - Energy Advisor.

At the meeting, representatives of the Urban Energy Security Project in Vietnam and EPRI presented the project activities and results of coordination with EVN from 2021 to 2023; Introduced EPRI's capacity and research in the electricity field by the conditions and context of Vietnam; At the same time, they expressed their desire to cooperate with EVN in the coming time.

At the meeting, EVN's specialized departments also discussed with USAID and EPRI about areas of cooperation in the coming time. 

Mr. Vo Quang Lam - EVN Vice President thanked USAID in recent times for supporting EVN very effectively in the cooperation process. In 2024 and the coming period, EVN wishes to continue to cooperate and receive support from USAID and EPRI in areas such as training, information security, economical and efficient use of energy, load demand management program, etc.
